2013 IIHF WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

The 2013 U.S. Women's National Team lost in a shootout to Canada, 3-2, in the opening game and won the next two preliminary-round games against Finland (4-2) and Switzerland (5-0) to earn a quarterfinal bye. In the semifinal, the U.S. defeated Finland, 3-0, to secure a match up with rival Canada in the gold-medal game. The U.S. topped Canada, 3-2 to earn the gold medal. The United States finished the tournament 4-0-1-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L), outscoring opponents 17-7.
