2012 IIHF WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

The 2012 U.S. Women's National Team opened the tournament with three preliminary-round wins against Canada (9-2), Russia (9-0) and Finland (11-0) to earn a quarterfinal bye. In the semifinal, the U.S. defeated Switzerland, 10-0, to secure a match up with rival Canada in the gold-medal game. The U.S. lost in overtime, 5-4, to earn the silver medal. The United States finished the tournament 4-0-1-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L), outscoring opponents 43-7.
